About Dr.Akila Palani
Dr.Akila Palani, is a dedicated professional with over 24 years of experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities, focusing on Speech, Hearing, and Language diagnostics, therapy, research, and rehabilitation services. She specializes in enhancing the communication skills of children with Autism, ADHD, Learning Difficulties, and other developmental delays.
Educational Background
She graduated her Bachelor’s program in Audiology and speech Language pathology from SRI RAMACHANDRA MEDICAL COLLEGE & RESEARCH INSTITUTE in the year 1998, continued post-graduation studies from the Pioneer Institute for speech and hearing at ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF SPEECH & HEARING, MYSORE in the year 2000.She became a certified ABA Trainer in the year 2008.Done her HANEN CERTIFIED SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST, from The Hanen CENTER, CANADA, in the year 2013.she obtained her Doctorate in the year 2022 for her research paper focusing on "Phonological awareness and orthographic principles in Tamil dyslexic children”.
Professional Experience
She has professional experience in working at various organizations, NGOs, in medical colleges and research institutes for 4years from 2000 to 2004. She then started BRIGHT in the year April 2004.she has conducted many workshop for Parents of children with Differently-abled, also she has conducted many parent training program on speech and language therapy, and also conducted many screening programs for the public through Lions Club of Padi shenoy Nagar, and school screening program on Identification and remediation of children with Learning Difficulties. She always believes “Early the Identification-Early the Intervention –Early The Recovery”.
Research and Contributions
Dr.Akila has conducted extensive research in areas such as phonological awareness, orthographic skills, and communication strategies for children with special needs. She has presented papers at national and international conferences and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals. She has many awards for her research papers presented at various conferences held all over INDIA.

She has received Aishwaryam Excellence Award (2004) for Best Speech Therapist given by A.S. Media Vision, and also received an award from Tamil Padaipalargal Sangam for the Best Audiologist and speech Pathologist (2023).
